Two Bulgarian Parties Oppose Sending Weapons to Ukraine

Two parties in the Bulgarian parliament, the Bulgarian Socialist Party and Vuzrazhdane, have applied to the Constitutional Court in Sofia to challenge legislation passed by the parliament on Dec. 16 to authorize the supply of military equipment to Ukraine. The two parties were the only ones to oppose the decision in the parliament, reported the Sofia Globe. “You owe society an explanation why you took the risk of involving Bulgaria in war. You betrayed left-minded people, you betrayed the socialists, who are for peace and who have made efforts to get you elected president, and Iliana Iotova vice president, in two campaigns,” said Kornelia Ninova, the leader of the BSP, in a briefing in the parliament referring to Bulgarian President Roumen Radev, according to Radio Bulgaria.
