Al Qaeda and related organizations, rather than being dismantled, have been kept functional by the U.S. for operations against the Syrian government of Bashar al Assad. As of now one-third of Syria’s territory is controlled by the United States and is used as a source of fuel oil and grain that is being exported and sold for the benefit of the U.S. that has illegally seized these resources. Syria’s attempt to work cooperatively with U.S. and other relief organizations has been stopped, as the U.S. has only permitted NGOs that work on behalf of U.S. allies to provide any relief, even after the devastation of three earthquakes in the days since Feb. 6.
