Belarus announced that its second nuclear plant is now scheduled to come on line in October 2023, as reported by Belta news. As with its first reactor from 2021, it is a 3rd-generation, 1,200-MW water-cooled unit, built by Russia’s Atomstroyexport. This same type of reactor has been built in China and India, and is also in the planning stage in Egypt, Turkey, Hungary, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.
