After the April 4-5 meeting of NATO foreign ministers, Hungary’s Peter Szijjártó told a press conference on April 5 that mutually beneficial cooperation with China was preferable to rivalry. “We haven’t entered, neither do we want to enter … competition between China and Europe or China and Hungary,” said the minister. Relations between countries should not be spoken in terms of military alliances. “So, anyone advocating the separation of the Chinese and European economies risks landing a massive blow to the European economy,” he asserted. As an example, he declared that Europe is dependent on South Korean and Chinese batteries. (CGL)
