Former British Prime Minister and champion of the Ukrainian war party has resigned from Parliament. This follows a cross-party parliamentary investigation in the so-called Partygate scandal for which he is accused of misleading Parliament. The party took place at the height of the Covid-19 lockdown when older people were dying like flies. The investigation found that he misled Parliament and recommended a long period of suspension.
Playing the victim, Johnson issued a statement accusing the investigation of trying to drive him out of Parliament in revenge for Brexit and ultimately to reverse the 2016 referendum result. He hinted he will try to make a comeback at some point.
