Neutral States Veto EU Plan for Security Guarantees for Ukraine

Yesterday’s EU summit in Brussels did not approve an obnoxious EU Commission plan to issue security guarantees to Ukraine as part of the process of integrating the country into the European Union. The idea behind the proposal was that if—as it looks—a Ukraine NATO membership is not feasible for years to come, the EU might step in with its own security guarantees for its members.
