U.S. Supply of Cluster Munitions ‘a Gesture of Despair,’ Says Russian Ambassador in Washington

Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov lambasted the Biden Administration’s decision to send cluster munitions to Ukraine. “The deep involvement of the U.S. in the conflict in Ukraine, even without cluster munitions, has never been in doubt,” he responded to a media query, posted to the embassy’s Telegram channel last night. “However, the current level of U.S. provocations is really off scale and brings humanity closer to a new world war.”

“The United States is so obsessed with the idea of defeating Russia that it does not realize the gravity of its actions,” he went on. “They only lead to more casualties and prolong the agony of the Kiev regime.”
