Arriving Monday morning for a surprise trip to Kiev, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner has assured Ukraine of the German government’s continued support. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko, following a meeting with Lindner, wrote on Telegram that he had stressed that Ukraine urgently needs “air defense systems and long-range weapons.”
“Ukraine must not lose this war,” Lindner said after his arrival, claiming that Ukraine is ostensibly defending Western values: “What is at stake here is the future of the European order of peace and freedom.”
