Xi and Ramaphosa To Co-Chair China-Africa Leaders Dialogue at BRICS Summit

While in Johannesburg, South Africa, China’s President Xi Jinping will co-chair with host President Cyril Ramaphosa the China-Africa Leaders’ Dialogue, Beijing’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying announced on Aug. 18, under the theme of “Promoting African integration and jointly building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.” This follows the highly successful July 27-28 Russia-Africa Summit in St. Petersburg, with 49 delegations representing African countries, where many development projects were signed, including several agreements for Russia to build nuclear power programs and power plants in Africa.
