Egypt and Jordan Denounce Plans To Expel Palestinians

Late Thursday night, Oct. 12, Egyptian President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi said that while his country would provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, they must “remain on their land.” If they were to leave, that would mean “the elimination of the [Palestinian] cause.” While the Biden Administration has spoken of a “humanitarian corridor,” such a corridor leading to Egypt, with no hope of allowing Palestinians to return, is unacceptable to Cairo.
