Appearing on Fox News’s Hannity Show on Oct. 11, former Democratic Congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard abandoned any idea of advocating for peace in the Mideast, or challenging U.S. policy. Instead she adopted the stance of a warmonger as she discussed Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel: It’s time for Americans to “wake up,” she said, and be prepared to face the threat posed by “Islamist terrorism"—just as Israel is doing.

In the past, Gabbard has been a thorn in the side of the Anglo-American political establishment, as she attacked the U.S./NATO proxy war against Russia via Ukraine and warned of the danger of a thermonuclear World War III if it were not stopped. She repeatedly asked why the U.S. was pursuing a policy that could exterminate all life on the planet. The danger of world war still persists, more so now with developments in Southwest Asia, but that doesn’t seem to be Gabbard’s concern anymore.

Hannity shared common cause with Gabbard, expressing his frustration over recent polls showing that only 38% of Democrats support Israel and 49% back Palestine. He reminded Gabbard that this is the party she once belonged to. She responded with an attack on “elite Democrats,” politicians and mass media who “hate America, hate what we stand for, hate the principles enshrined in the Constitution.” What’s worse, she said, is how many Democrats “sympathize with and romanticize … those who seek to destroy us.” They refuse to recognize that Islamist terrorists represent “the greatest short- and long-term threat to our country and people around the world” and “refuse to take a stand,” she argued.

Gabbard agreed with Hannity that Israel had just suffered the equivalent of the 9/11 attack in the U.S., warning that “we continue to see continued attacks on Israel by Hamas” and that “our leaders and the world need to wake up and recognize the threat these Islamist terrorists pose to us and countries around the world and be committed to defeating them.”
