UANI Calls for Missile Strikes on Iran that Would Push the World ‘Off the Charts,’ Toward Nuclear War

The United Against a Nuclear Iran (UANI), which may be the leading international organization calling for an all-out war on Iran, issued a statement Oct. 9, calling for the United States, along with Israel and its allies, to launch strikes against military and intelligence targets in Iran, including those of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The IRGC is a branch of the Iranian armed forces.

On Oct. 11, Helga Zepp-LaRouche told an international webcast, that with respect to the Israeli-Hamas confrontation, “the danger now is that a very bloody conflict will play out with the potential of going beyond the region, leading to world war, because if it involves Iran, I think we are off the charts.”

UANI, created in 2008, is dominated by an Advisory Board, which is led by an alliance of British intelligence and British Special Forces (including SAS) and directors of the Mossad, Israel’s national intelligence agency. It also includes American neocons, such as former National Security Advisor John Bolton.

UANI interfaces closely with the Mojahedin-e-Khalq (MEK), about which the Aug. 7, 2023 Tehran Times reported, “the MEK continues to perpetrate terrorist actions in Iran for the overthrow of the Islamic Republic.”

UANI released a press statement Oct. 9, through its chairman, former U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman:

“Without Iran’s support, there would be no Hamas. Without Iran’s support, Hamas could not have attacked Israel the way it has. Without Iran’s support, Russia would not be killing as many Ukrainians as they are. Without Iran’s support, missiles and drones would not have fallen on our allies in the Arab world….

“It is time to hold Iran accountable. While Israel must act to punish, weaken, and ultimately destroy Hamas, the critical military targets that enabled the horrific events in Israel are in Iran.

“We call on our government in Washington, together with Israel, and our allies around the world to launch strikes against military and intelligence targets in Iran, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) sites, and missile and drone bases, where Iran’s proxy and partner network is trained.”

A look at its Advisory Board shows the dominating role of the British and Israelis, who dominate UANI’s thinking and policy

Some of the members of the UANI Advisory Board from Britain:

Lord Charles Guthrie: Guthrie served, from 2000-2011, as Colonel Commandant (director) of the Special Air Service (SAS), a special forces unit of the British Army (like, but more extensive than the Green Berets). The SAS is notorious for covert surveillance, close-combat fighting, and dirty operations that can be used to destabilize and overthrow governments. From 1997 to 2001, Guthrie served as chief of the British Defense Staff. Guthrie is Knight Grand Cross of the high-ranking British Order of the Bath, and also of the Victorian Order.

Sir Graeme Lamb: Lamb served as director of the United Kingdom’s Special Forces, (between Guthrie and Lamb, UANI has a heavy representation from U.K. Special Forces, and the ability to conceive of how to run dirty covert operations.) Lamb served as the Deputy Commanding General of the Multinational Forces in Iraq under U.S. Gen. David Petraeus in 2007-2008 during the Iraq invasion, and then as Special Adviser to U.S. Gen. Stanley McChrystal, during NATO’s illegal occupation of Afghanistan.

Sir Ivor Roberts: In 1986, Roberts became the head of the British Foreign Office’s Counter-Terrorism division. Roberts’ biography, posted by UANI, states, “in that role, his responsibilities included the kidnapping of Westernizers in Lebanon by Hezbollah, the activities of the Abu Nidal terrorist organization, the Lockerbie bombing, and IRA.” He was thus at the center of the Foreign Office’s handling and direction of these events. From 2006-2017, Roberts held the post of the president of Trinity College, Oxford.

Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones: From 1993-1994, Neville-Jones chaired Britain’s Joint Intelligence Committee, and in 2010 was appointed Minister for State Security and Counter-Terrorism. She is a Dame Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. George.

Lord Stanley Kalms: Kalms built the Dixon Group into a leading electronics retailer. He chairs the Strategy Committee of the Henry Jackson Society, financing the HJS with more than $100,000. This is part of the strong link between UANI and the rabidly anti-Iran Henry Jackson Society.

From Israel:

Meir Dagan: In 2002, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon appointed Dagan the General Director of the Mossad, where he served until 2011. He helped develop UANI in its formative years; he died in 2016.

Tamir Pardo: In 2011, Pardo was appointed Director of Mossad, succeeding Dagan, serving until 2016. The UANI website reports that, as Mossad Director, Pardo “maintained close relationships with overseas intelligence agencies.” Thus, the Mossad directors who guided Mossad from 2002-16, were subsequently advising and leading UANI.

Zohar Palti: Palti, a former head of the Political-Military Bureau at Israel’s Ministry of Defense, was appointed in 2011 as Head of Mossad Intelligence. UANI’s biography of Palti states, that he “led the efforts to counter Iran’s nuclear program as well as counterterrorism operations.”

From the United States:

John Bolton: Neo-con John Bolton was U.S. National Security Advisor under President Trump from April 2018 through September 2019. Before and after his NSC post, Bolton has been a UANI spokesman.

The UANI is very involved in campaigns, including the bullying and “publicly exposing” of any company in any country that trades with Iran. It has either partially written, or sponsors, much of the anti-Iranian legislation that emerges from the U.S. Congress.

Thus, the British-Israeli-American axis of UANI board members are much less academics, and more persons who have held posts that do something, including actions against Iran. They are now pushing for a direct missile attack on locations in Iran.
