As Ursula “von der Lying” plots hostile economic measures against China, together with U.S. officials n Washington, Beijing is offering a sample of how the self-inflicted “de-risking” would taste, by restricting exports of some “highly sensitive” graphite products. Here is another of von der Leyen’s brilliant ideas backfiring. The EU Commission president, indeed, had just appointed former ECB president and former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi to head a committee to investigate “unfair competition” by China on electric cars, for the purpose of collecting evidence for punitive tariffs on Chinese e-cars.
