The official X account of the Spokesman of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid posted two video clips of an interview Nov. 9 from Kabul with the Vice President of the Schiller Institute in Germany Stephan Ossenkopp, translated into Pashto.
The English-language interview was posted the same day by Afghanistan’s RTA news media, revealing that Ossenkopp was speaking during the three-day Nov. 6-8 conference in Kabul named “Operation Ibn Sina: The Coming Afghan Economic Miracle.” He reported that in his conference presentation, as part of the Schiller Institute team, he had spoken of the network of railroads needed to connect Afghanistan to its neighbors, but he went on to recount his happiness at being able to see Afghanistan first-hand, as it actually is, rather than via the stereotypes peddled by the media. People are happy, curious and eager to bring about changes, he explained. Things are better now than under the prior regime, people tell him. He countered the lie that the Taliban is responsible for the collapse in the economy, pointing instead to the U.S. sanctions and repeated wars waged against Afghanistan from the outside.
