“West Bank settlers are exploiting the ‘propitious moment’ created by the war that Hamas started to expel thousands of Palestinians from their homes and lands. They are terrorizing them through various means in order to drive them from their villages,” begins an editorial published in Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
“Nobody is stopping the settlers,” the daily continues. “[T]he Israel Defense Force has turned a blind eye to their crimes. Sometimes, IDF soldiers even actively participate in the pogroms.”
