People’s Deputy Volodymyr Aryev (from the party of former President Petro Poroshenko) posted today that Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov had submitted a proposal to the Verkhovna Rada to dismiss UAF Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny from his post. However, the Defense Department had not yet publicly published such a proposal. Separately, Oleksiy Danilov, head of the National Security and Defense Council, issued a threat today to Zaluzhny, one that seemed to cohere with Aryev’s posting: “The prerequisites for our victory remain. The grounds for Russia’s defeat have not disappeared … people who doubt the victory of Ukraine have no place in power and command.”

Later, Censor.net reported that Umerov officially denied the information of People’s Deputy Volodymyr Aryev about the request to dismiss Zaluzhny. It adds: “It should be noted that People’s Deputy Volodymyr Ariev initially published such information, but later deleted it.”
