Austrian farmers rolled hundreds of tractors into the capital of Vienna on Jan. 19, with more action to come. Italian farmers had a tractorcade in Sicily on Jan. 20, and a national rally with tractors in the capital of Rome today, and in many other locations around the country. Spanish farmers will stage mass protests in February. Activities in the same direction are also expected in the Netherlands, where farmers fed up with the government even created their own political party, which holds seats in both houses of Parliament already.

A broader protest by farmers is also building up in France: Since last Friday, Jan. 19, some 450 tractors have been blocking Highways 20, 62 and 64 at Toulouse, close to the main route to neighboring Spain.
