China’s Wang Yi and U.S.’s Jake Sullivan Hold Low-Key Meetings

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan are holding talks in Thailand today and tomorrow. It is hoped that such low-key talks can prevent the two countries from ending up in a conflict. As of the end of day today in Thailand, there has been no readout of the ongoing discussions, but something will be expected tomorrow. The issue of Taiwan after their recent elections will no doubt be a prime topic of the meeting, but it is also said that the situation in the Middle East will be discussed.
