Afghanistan Begins Four-day Polio Vaccination for 7.6 Million Children

The German medical journal Aerzteblatt reports that “a large-scale vaccination campaign against the polio virus has been launched in Afghanistan. According to the Taliban-led Ministry of Health, more than 7.6 million children are to be vaccinated against the disease starting today. The campaign is to be carried out within four days in 21 of the country’s 34 provinces.”
