The French President's Late-Night Press Conference

After yesterday’s hastily-convened Ukraine war conference in Paris, led by French President Emmanuel Macron, he made clear at a late-night press conference that France was leading a new coalition to enable Ukraine to “carry out deep strikes” within Russia, using “medium- and long-range missiles and bombs.” He claimed that the war conference had established a “broad consensus to do even more and faster together” for Kiev.

While Europe could have breathed a sigh of relief that the U.S. is temporarily paralyzed in the attempt to drag the world into a futile proxy war with Russia, an effort that had done so much to cripple Europe’s economy, Macron has taken up the cudgel from Washington to rally Europe to the goal of militarily defeating Russia.
