March 1, 2024 (EIRNS)—In Paris on Feb. 29, 2024, H.E. Mr. Mohammad Homayoon Azizi, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Paris and to UNESCO, added his signature to the Schiller Institute’s petition to UNESCO, calling on the governments of the Western world to extend and strengthen cooperation in order to protect and preserve Afghanistan’s cultural heritage. H.E. Azizi added that he sincerely hopes that the 46th Session of UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee, taking place in New Delhi in July this year, will contribute to strengthening relations in this field with his country.
