March 10, 2024 (EIRNS)—A European group called “Science4Peace” comprised of scientists from all over Europe, has raised its voice and is organizing scientists to protest CERN’s December 2023 decision to stop further cooperation with Russia and Belarus.
The politicians, not the scientists, were behind CERN’s decision. Many of the scientists disagree with the CERN Council’s decision, pointing to potential mistrust from many other countries, not to mention the important scientific and financial contributions to CERN’s work from its Russian and Belarusian participants.
