April 2, 2024 (EIRNS)—Russia’s FSB announced yesterday that four militants were captured on March 31 in Russia’s Dagestan Region, and that at least one of them had confessed to having had a “direct involvement” in delivering equipment for the March 22 Crocus City Hall terrorist attack. The FSB claimed that the four were part of a terrorist cell planning a mass-casualty attack in the southern city of Kaspiysk using automatic firearms and explosives, and that the foreigners planned to flee Russia afterwards.
FSB special forces raided apartments of the terrorists and found, amongst other equipment, automatic firearms and an improvised explosive device. The head of the Dagestan region, Sergey Melikhov, said that “the seized weapons, ammunition, and an improvised explosive device ready for use, indicate that the detainees could plan to commit terrorist crimes on the territory of our republic.”
