Embarking on his sixth tour of the African continent in the past two years, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived at Guinea’s capital Conakry on Monday, for a working visit, to discuss economic and military-technical cooperation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guinea, Morissanda Kouyate, as well as President Mamady Doumbouya. Economic and health-sector cooperation is going to be intensified.
“We have not forgotten about military-technical cooperation and strengthening Guinea’s defense capabilities, especially taking into account the growing terrorist threat,” Lavrov said, adding that he had invited his Guinean counterpart to the ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, scheduled to be held in November, in Sochi, Russia.
