African membership in the BRICS will greatly benefit that association because Africa is the “continent of the future.” So said Viktoriya Panova, Russia’s sherpa in the “Women 20,” also an expert with the Valdai Club and Vice Dean of the National Research University Higher School of Economics. In remarks to TASS on the sidelines of the second Russian-African conference of the Valdai Club in Tanzania, she explained that BRICS “is a kind of hope for nations to reshape the future in the interests of the world’s majority countries.”
She underscored that Africa is the future, and with proper investment in its human resources and education, African youth will have the ability to make a significant contribution to “global scientific and technological progress.”
