FBI’s Christopher Wray Comments on Trump's Wounded Ear

Testifying on July 24 at the House Judiciary Committee, FBI Director Christopher Wray said, “With respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.” The staff at the hospital said that it was “a bullet wound to the ear,” and former White House Dr. Ronny Jackson posted on his X account: “ABSOLUTELY IRRESPONSIBLE for Chris Wray to make such a statement as Director of the FBI. Another POLITICALLY MOTIVATED move by the man that has repeatedly weaponized his office to tear down President Trump. What little credibility he may have left is GONE after recklessly suggesting Trump might not have been hit from a bullet. IT WAS A BULLET—I’VE SEEN THE WOUND! PATHETIC!!!” (capitalization, punctuation in original). We should note that nobody asked Wray to analyze Trump’s wounded ear: It was a totally unsolicited comment. The question was from Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) about the eighth bullet fired by Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Former President Trump posted on his TruthSocial account “FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively ‘uneventful’—Wrong!” On July 24 Trump called on Wray to resign over his comments on Biden’s mental fitness.

It is strange that Christopher Wray can offer opinions on Trump’s ear, yet still has nothing to say about the Nord Stream pipeline bombing, the Christopher Steele dossier, etc.
