Sen. Ron Johnson Releases Report on Initial Findings of Trump Shooting, Seeks Independent Investigation

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) has gone into high gear to investigate the failures behind the attempted July 13 assassination of Donald Trump. Following the incident, Johnson’s office reportedly began compiling a preliminary report based on their own work contacting local and state government entities, and other private companies. After just a short time, Johnson’s report already revealed enormous security holes and other failures on the part of the Secret Service. These include that the Secret Service did not attend a local security briefing on the morning of July 13, that there was infrequent or non-existent radio contact between the Secret Service and the local law enforcement on site, and that local law enforcement had notified Secret Service about the would-be-assassin Thomas Crooks over an hour before the shooting, but nothing was done about it. The report also said that the Secret Service almost did not send snipers to the Trump rally that day.

Johnson was interviewed by Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on July 21 about his findings, on which he elaborated on some of the areas of suspicion that he planned to look further into, and called on anyone who has video footage from that day to “save it, make a backup copy,” and send it to his office to help in the investigation. Johnson, said that he would like to believe that the FBI and Secret Service can conduct a thorough investigation of this, but that he has lost all trust in them, after the Russiagate collusion hoax and other frauds, and that therefore a completely independent investigation is needed. “We can’t trust the FBI and the Secret Service to do an honest and open and transparent investigation, that’s just a very sad fact,” he said.
