Germany’s Annalena Baerbock Flops, Cover Story Is Ridiculed

On the eve of Germany’s general elections three years ago, Green leader Annalena Baerbock was still projected as the winner, already crowned as next Chancellor of Germany by mainstream media. Fortunately for Germany, she did not make it, and she has become so unpopular as Foreign Minister that, facing a humiliating defeat in the elections in 2025, she decided to be wiser than Biden and retire early from the race.

However, her cover story—that she has more important things to do as Foreign Minister, suddenly talking about diplomacy after having buried diplomacy along her entire mandate—is fooling nobody. For instance, the influential economic weekly, run by Handelsblatt, WirtschaftsWoche reported:
