Apparently so. U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, who was formerly in charge of Indo-Pacific Affairs at the White House, met on Aug. 5 with Sweden’s Foreign Minister Jan Knutsson to discuss “joint priorities” for the “Indo-Pacific.”
The Indo-Pacific is not exactly in Sweden’s neighborhood, but it certainly is on Campbell’s radar screen as an area to which NATO thinks it has a right to expand, and Sweden is a new NATO member.
