Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus was appointed to lead the interim cabinet of Bangladesh, according to Joynal Abedin, spokesman for Bangladeshi President Shahabuddin Chuppu, reports TASS.
The decision followed a meeting between the president and leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Aug. 6. Other members of the new interim government will be named in consultation with various political parties.
