Peace Is High Priority for Brandenburg Voters

The latest opinion polls in Brandenburg see the Greens, with 4.5 percent, falling below the 5-percent mark which is mandatory for being in the state parliament. Although the final result in Sunday’s election for new state parliament also depends on how the 25 percent of voters will vote, who still have not decided whom to vote for, the Greens losing parliamentary status corresponds with the fact that peace and diplomacy rank second in voters’ preferences. Migration is ranking first, jobs are third, health is fourth, climate protection comes far behind at position five or six.

The Greens’ role as the number one war party does not resonate with 95 percent of voters, nor does their climate obsession. Pro-green activities like the Friday4Future rallies in German cities launched all of sudden yesterday, will not change that. The Greens are on the decline.
