China-Russia Maritime Exercises Begin Phase 2

The ongoing China-Russia joint military exercise has entered its second phase, in which warships from the two countries are scheduled to hold live-fire drill sessions in the Sea of Japan, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, taking place simultaneously with a China-Russia joint coast guard exercise and patrol.

Global Times reports that “The opening ceremony of the Northern/Interaction-2024 joint exercise was held at a Russian naval port (Vladivostok) on Saturday, after which warships from the two navies set out and maneuvered toward the exercise zone, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy said in a press release on Saturday,” Sept. 21.
