Hungarian Foreign Minister at UNO: the "fastest Way to Peace"

September 27, 2024 (EIRNS) Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto speaking in front of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday said that the real issue of Ukraine is to find the fastest way to peace and not delivering more weapons which make no sense. Hungary has accepted 1.3 million Ukrainian refugees in a war which is not Hungary’s. He said: “And if we are honest with ourselves, we have to say that practically nothing has worked out ... [that] was based on an assumption that there might be a solution on the battlefield” and “open and shameless reference of the possible use of nuclear weapons.” Further: Those arguing in favor of peace “will be immediately attacked and stigmatized,” he said.
