India Disregards U.S. Censorship Demands

U.S. officials asked the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to act against what they call “Russian disinformation,” but India is disregarding these demands.

“However, while the Ministry has been silent on the issue, government officials said that the debate on sanctions is not relevant to India,” reports The Hindu. One source was quoted as saying that the matter “does not pertain” to India.

A former diplomat told The Hindu that the act of banning media organizations demonstrated “double standards” regarding freedom of expression.
