The International Association of Academies of Science—bringing scientists from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Montenegro and Vietnam—met in Moscow at the presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The two-day meeting highlighted an exhibition of scientific books and journals dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Nikolaevich Falkov drew attention to the fact that in 2024 a new strategy for the long-term scientific and technological development of the country was approved, where the RAS was assigned a special role. “We pay great attention not only to the development of big science, but also to its popularization,” Falkov said. “An interesting tool in this area is the development of scientific routes throughout our country. This is important for schoolchildren, students, graduate students, and young scientists.
“Such routes can be of interest not only to those who live and work in Russia, but also to colleagues from your countries. In turn, the IAAS can be a platform where you could discuss a similar practice of creating routes in your countries.”
