Independent journalist Eva Bartlett has posted a summary of what the IDF has been doing in the West Bank for the past week or so in an op-ed published in RT yesterday. She cites reports that the IDF operation in and around Jenin was the most intense of any IDF operation in the West Bank in 20 years. In the middle of all the destruction and carnage wrought by the IDF is this: “Prime Minister Netanyahu during a press conference pointing to his map with the West Bank erased. Bartlett cites a report by the human rights group Euro-Med Monitor, in which it cites Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth writing that, “an organized evacuation of the Palestinian civilian population will be carried out according to the … combat centers.” The group notes, “This is a clear indication of Israel’s intention to commit genocide against Palestinians in the West Bank, just as it has done against those in the Gaza Strip.”
UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese on Sept. 2 stated, “There is mounting evidence that no Palestinian is safe under Israel’s unfettered control…. The long-standing impunity granted to Israel is enabling the de-Palestinization of the occupied territory, leaving Palestinians at the mercy of the forces pursuing their elimination as a national group.”
