London Puts on a Full-Court Press To Let the Long-Range Missiles Fly into Russia

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy returned from his meetings with U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken to hit the British airwaves on Sept. 15, pushing for both countries to start launching NATO weapons deep into Russia from Ukrainian territory. Speaking to BBC Lammy “refused to confirm whether the U.K. and its allies were planning to allow missiles to be used against targets in Russia. But he added: `This is under careful discussion with the Ukrainians, as we assess what they need as they head into the winter.’ Lammy said the U.K. and other allies would be meeting President Zelenskyy at the United Nations General Assembly in New York in less than 12 days’ times and suggested the issue would be discussed then.”

Lammy also dismissed President Putin’s sharp warning on Sept. 12 about the consequence of a direct war of NATO against Russia. He accused Putin of “throwing dust up into the air,” adding: “There’s a lot of bluster—that’s his modus operandi.”
