Police Van Escorting Foreign Diplomats in Northern Pakistan Hits Landmine

In Pakistan, a police vehicle escorting a delegation of diplomats hit an improvised explosive device, reported the Russian Embassy on its Telegram channel. The police van was guarding a convoy of foreign envoys heading to Malam Jabba from the Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province today. District Police Officer Zahidullah Khan confirmed the explosion, stating the attack targeted the group of 11 foreign diplomats, which included the ambassadors from Russia, Portugal, Iran, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. One police officer was killed and four others were injured; none of the diplomats was hurt. The diplomats were returning to their hotel after attending a Forum on Tourism in the Swat Valley, organized by the Pakistani Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
