Germany will not send to Ukraine long-range Taurus cruise missiles that can reach Moscow, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterated yesterday. “Although many people put pressure on me, I will not deliver cruise missiles that are capable of reaching as far as Moscow, I can assure you and I assure you here, on this very spot that I will stick to this stance,” Scholz said on Sept. 20.
Scholz made the comments at a public meeting in the municipality of Niedergörsdorf, in the state of Brandenburg. On Sunday, Sept. 22, there will be state elections in Brandenburg, whose population is predominantly against escalation of the war in Ukraine.
