Germany will not send to Ukraine long-range Taurus cruise missiles that can reach Moscow, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterated yesterday. “Although many people put pressure on me, I will not deliver cruise missiles that are capable of reaching as far as Moscow, I can assure you and I assure you here, on this very spot that I will stick to this stance,” Scholz said on September 20.
Scholz made the comments at a public meeting in the municipality of Niedergorsdorf, in the federal state of Brandenburg. This Sunday, there will be state elections in Brandenburg where the population is predominantly against escalation of the war in Ukraine.
