Trump Courts Adelson Money at Israeli-American Council Event

At a Sept. 19 event of the Israeli-American Council in Washington, D.C., Donald Trump delivered a speech presenting himself as the most pro-Israel candidate in this year’s election. “You have a big protector in me. You don’t have a protector on the other side,” Trump said. “Anybody who’s Jewish and loves being Jewish and loves Israel is a fool if they vote for a Democrat.” He ended by saying: “If you want Israel to survive you need Donald J. Trump.”

Trump was of course pandering for more Jewish votes ahead of the election, but he was also making a pitch to Republican mega donor Miriam Adelson, who was at the IAC event on Sept. 19, and who has been Trump’s largest contributor. Adelson is the widow of “casino magnate” Sheldon Adelson, who has bankrolled the rabid right in Israel (and elsewhere) for decades, as EIR has documented repeatedly.
