The Guardian, citing German government sources, reported yesterday that President Joe Biden will travel to Germany this week, though it won’t be the same visit that had been planned and canceled last week. German media said Biden will meet Chancellor Olaf Scholz and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier for talks in Berlin on Oct. 18, which are expected to cover Ukraine and the Middle East.
As for the Ramstein meeting that was also canceled as a result of the cancellation of Biden’s trip, TASS cited Germany’s ZDF TV that it is highly unlikely the group will gather for another meeting in the near future, despite Biden’s planned visit. The TV channel noted that Scholz has already announced another package of military aid to Kyiv, which was supposed to be done at the group’s meeting. “Further decision in the Ramstein format will probably be made only after the election in the United States,” it said.
