EU’s ‘Top Diplomat’ Borrell Calls for Deep Strikes into Russia

TASS today calls attention to remarks made yesterday by outgoing hawkish diplomat, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, who called on EU countries to allow Ukraine to use its Western weapons to strike deep into Russia. “I also reiterated the call to let Ukraine target airports and launch pads inside Russia with Western weapons,” he said on an EU diplomatic service website. “Let Ukraine strike the archers, not just the arrows! Not everybody agrees on that measure yet. However, we have promised to support Ukraine with whatever it takes for as long as it takes and the energy front will be decisive this winter,” he concluded.
