Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi flew to Beirut, today, to meet with Lebanese officials, and to express Iran’s support for Lebanon in the midst of the bloody Israeli assault on that country. He told reporters at a press conference that his visit in these difficult circumstances is the best evidence that Iran stands with Hezbollah.

Araghchi also warned that Iran has no plans to go beyond its Oct. 1 retaliatory missile strike on Israel, but vowed that an Iranian response to further Israeli strikes will be harsh, proportional and well-calculated. “We did not start an attack, but responded to the Israeli aggression on the Iranian soil, against the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, and against Iran’s interests. Unlike the Zionist regime that targets the centers of population, we struck the (Israeli) regime’s military and security centers alone,” he said, reported Tasnim.
