Citing Saudi TV channel Al Hadath, TASS reported this morning that an Israeli strike targeted a weapons depot in the Jableh rural area on the Syrian coast. In addition, sounds of explosions were reported in the western Syrian cities of Latakia and Tartus following the activation of air defenses.

The opposition Syria TV, as translated and published by the Syrian Observer news agency this morning, claims that the Israelis hit the Russian Hmeimim air base, as part of a series of strikes against targets in Latakia province following the arrival of an Iranian cargo plane. “According to exclusive sources for the Syria TV website, the attack was carried out by air and naval forces targeting the airport with several missiles. Two of them successfully hit the intended depot inside the airport, while the remaining Israeli missiles were intercepted by Russian and Syrian regime air defense systems.”

However, accounts published by outlets aligned with the Axis of Resistance, reported only that a warehouse in Jableh, only a few kilometers from Hmeimim air base, was hit. Al Mayadeen reported that video imagery showed explosions on the outskirts of Jableh, coinciding with reports of activated air defenses.
