Israel has expanded its evacuation orders issued in southern Lebanon. Including the 20 villages under the new evacuation order, “over 25% of the country under a direct Israeli military evacuation order,” according to the UN Human Rights Council’s Middle East Director Rema Jamous Imseis. “People are heeding these calls to evacuate, and they’re fleeing with almost nothing,” she told a press conference in Geneva.

The IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee demanded that villages evacuate “without delay” and that all civilians must move north of the Awali River.

“Anyone who is near Hezbollah elements, facilities or weapons is putting his life in danger,” Adraee wrote in a post on X. “You are prohibited from going south. Any movement south could be dangerous to your life.”
