Florida’s 100-year-old Tampa General Hospital is the only Level 1 trauma center in the region, and is actually located on an island in Tampa Bay. This hospital showed the world that it is not necessary to abandon coastline locations, or depopulate the planet due to “climate change” producing harsh conditions. Infrastructure is the answer.
The area of the island where the hospital stands suffered massive flooding during Hurricane Helene, but Tampa General was able to keep operating. The hospital has a temporary watertight barrier that can be installed quickly and is designed to withstand a 15-foot storm surge and the heavy winds associated with it.
