The German magazine Cicero published a letter written by German Economy Minister Robert Habeck to French Economy Minister Agnes Pannier-Runacher, in which Habeck made sure that the French would deliver nuclear-produced electricity to Germany, to replace the energy missing from the three remaining nuclear plants he was going to shut down.
Habceck wrote: “You said that the French government’s aim is to put in the network 40 GW of nuclear capacity on Nov. 1, 2022, and 50 GW on January 1, 2023. Can you confirm that my memory is correct?”
The letter, so far classified, popped up in the Parliament investigative committee on the 2022 Energy Crisis, which will hear the testimony of the managers of the three nuclear power plants on Nov. 28.
