Mario Draghi is now complaining that there is a power vacuum in Europe. Speaking at Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) in Milan Dec. 9, Draghi said: “The Franco-German leadership is weakened but no other leadership has emerged, able to lead Europe towards a common future. There is a leadership vacuum. If Europe is going in a pro-sovereignist direction, how can we move on an integration road?”
Who “weakened” the Franco-German leadership, if not the sanctions, war and green policies pushed by Draghi and the EU Commission? To remedy his own disaster, Draghi now pushes for “more state” in the economy, i.e., Schachtian policies described in his Report on Competitiveness: roll over debt with more debt, this time aimed at rearmament.
