Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico called an emergency meeting of the Slovak Security Council for Jan. 23, after the country’s intelligence services received information about the threat of the government being overthrown, local newspaper and outlet Dennik N reported on Jan. 22.
Fico said he was ready for anything, but “not to undermine the country.” He pointed out that “foreign experts” had arrived in Slovakia who had been involved in the protests in Georgia and the Maidan in Ukraine. In Slovakia, according to Fico, they could try to provoke a coup d'état by seizing government buildings and engaging in civil disobedience.
