Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was confronted by leftist journalists in her New Year press conference regarding her friendship with Elon Musk and the alleged deal on Starlink being negotiated by the Italian government, given Musk’s alleged threat to freedom.
Meloni rejected a suggestion that Musk’s comments on his X social network constituted “dangerous interference.”
“The problem is when wealthy people use their resources to finance parties, associations and political representatives all over the world to influence the political choices of nation states,” Meloni told the evidently shaken journalist. “That’s not what Musk is doing,” she insisted.
